CELEBRATING TOMORROW'S FILMMAKERS TODAY

The DaVinci Film Institute℠ is a division of the DaVinci International Film Festival, aimed to produce a First Class award platform for registered HIGH SCHOOL students.  Much like its parent company, the Institute will host an annual red carpet event where “Official Selections” will showcase and compete for their shot at the Vitruvian and Junior Leo Awards.

The Institute will accept creative Works from High School students from around the world in short narrative, music video, screenwriting, animation, still photography, and the fine arts.  Submissions will be qualified and selected by the DIFF Jury who is tasked to assess each project based on a strict creative rubric.

Rules & Eligibility (Film & Screenwriting)

  • Students MUST currently be enrolled in High School*
  • Feature and Short scripts must be in Master Scene Format
  • All entries must be in English or have English subtitles
  • Feature screenplays must be between 80-120 pages in length
  • Short screenplays must be under 40 pages in length
  • There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit
  • You may not submit the same project more than once
  • Under no circumstances will substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of the entry script(s) be accepted
  • Student must own ALL RIGHTS to submitted work for submission and exhibition
  • Script entries must be uploaded in PDF format.  Scripts will not be returned
  • Competition judges, readers and employees of DaVinci International Film Festival (DIFF) or the Film Institute, past or present, and their immediate friends and families, are not eligible to enter
  • Previous winners at DaVinci Film Institute are not eligible†
  • All submissions, including art categories (still photography and fine arts) must have been produced within the last calendar year
  • Students under any current option, distribution deal or scholarship for their Works are not eligible

* High School students having graduated within three (3) months of submission are eligible to apply.
